Delivering the Best of the World to Discriminating Travelers
Singapore’s Botanic Gardens
You can easily spend an afternoon ambling through Singapore’s exotic Botanic gardens, established in 1822 by Sir Stamford Raffles, who founded the garden as a means to evaluate fruits, vegetables, spices, and other crops for possible export. Our favorites included the National Orchid Garden, heliconia, different species of pineapple, and carnivorous plants, and the many trails are well-posted. You’re never far from a snack area, and these are well-designed to fit within the serenity of the park.
